Apple registering another alternative name to .mac?

MacRumors report that another domain name was registered by Apple: me.com

You might remember that it was reported that Apple also bought mobileme.com earlier this week. Apple is apparently rebranding it’s web service as a Platform agnostic name…

“.mac” was a bit too “Mac” to fit the Windows world. Are we going to see specific service support for Windows announced at WWDC 2008? Maybe… but it is more likelly going to be the integration of the service with the iPhone and iPod Touch familly.

Apple could also surprise everyone by introducing a new “Tablet” form factor device with multi-touch support.
