Firefly brought in to launch Joost competitor

A digital TV start-up has brought in agency support to differentiate itself from established competitors like Joost and Vuze.

Zattoo hired Firefly after a competitive pitch.

The agency will provide UK support ahead of Zattoo’s launch this spring.

The IPTV channel is already a success in mainland Europe, with over 2m subscribers so far. Zattoo has signed up BBC1, BBC2 and Channels 4 and 5 among others, and aims to secure more mainstream content than some of its competitors, which tend to offer niche sci-fi programming.

In the weeks leading up to Zattoo’s UK launch, Firefly will be focusing on the blogging community and early adopters willing to try Beta websites.

The London agency will then launch the website to the mass market, using both traditional and online media.
