YouTube getting some broadcast content via Hearst-Argyle Television

YouTube announced that it has reached a revenue-sharing deal with Hearst-Argyle Television, so local television stations can partake in the revenue-sharing model when YouTube users watch their programs.

Hearst-Argyle owns local stations affiliated with ABC, GE, NBC, CBS and MyNetworkTV broadcast networks.

Considering YouTube’s deal with EMI to allow users to incorporate the record label’s music within their own content, as well as YouTube’s upcoming availability on Apple’s set-top box, the video-sharing king is moving swiftly into traditional media roles, integrating especially with the television industry to solidify and validate its business standing and overall success.
