Joost about to support User Based channels

One of the things I wanted to get on Joost was support for user provided program lineup. I found out last night that this is about to change. I discovered that the beta client 0.10.3 now support the ability to drag and drop URL pointing to channel list in XML format.

What this does is that it allow users to publish a list of programs in a public channel file for others to consume. I am not talking about consuming “user generated video” here… far from it. What I am talking about is organizing Joost provided programs (video) into list that other Joost users can add as channels.

To try it yourself simply drag the following link into your Joost client and the Joostteam.com channel will be added:

http://www.joostteam.com/joostteam-channel.xml

Another method of adding a channel to joost might be to click on the following URI. This will only work if you have Joost already installed:

joost://www.joostteam.com/joostteam-channel.xml

Stay tune for future development!

In the mean time you can look at the developer section of Joost.
