In an interview given in french to leblogdebezier.com Eric Clemenceau explain:
¨
Joost was present at Ad Tech Paris because they represent the unification of Television and Publicity. They are expecting to better explain what they intend to do and to meet people with who the may work with.
Eric then explain that Joost has about one to one and a half year head start ahead of the competition.
Joost will limit content to specific world region based on contract signed with content providers. So some content might be available across the earth and some limited to one country.
It will be absolutely impossible to pirate Joost content because the end user never has more than 8 sec of content on his/her computer.
(Humm… so why can I record what play in Joost to make tutorials using off the shelf software? If I wanted to I could record a show in it’s entirety and “Pirate” in across Bittorent. I think he is underestimating what can be done.)
The biggest challenge for the Joost team is to comprehend the extraordinary potential of what they have developed and be able to share this potential with others.
Joost will primarily rely on the “virtual” word to ear to promote Joost as the new TV platform. There will be publicity and promotion but he expect that Joost will advertise itself through social networking.
Joost is hoping to build the biggest media enterprise over the next few years.
